After having a fantastic 4 years in Melbourne, I moved back to Brisbane, just after the turn of the century. I lived in a couple of excellent studio houses and produced quite a pile of work. I became involved with a some artist run initiatives and then started a gallery from a shop-front studio that I was working out of in New Farm, Brisbane. The New Farm Art Stockroom was started with my friend, Adam Head and had an incredible cross-section of strong contemporary artist exhibiting there. |

I loved this painting, combining thoughts around divine proportion, labyrinthine and the Sonnet 54 series The Sonnet 54 series had been going for a few years already, but I was quite inspired by it in the early part of this century. Working with a simple, iconic image, the focus being on the application of paint and working of the surface to create emotionally evocative works.
