The Stockroom came about almost by accident. A friend of mine owned the building and asked me if I would like to have an exhibition in the vacant shop. I said that I would prefer to paint there for a few months and see what comes of it...
I held several exhibitions there and sold a fair amount of work. 9 months later, an adjoining space became available and I approached Adam Head with the concept of 'The Stockroom'. He loved it and we turned my studio into a rental gallery with a large attached stockroom which also has its own display gallery.
Since then the Stockroom has gone from strength to strength, keeping true to our ideals of promoting new, innovative art and supporting emerging artists. We have held several 'first timer' exhibitions and they have all been successful both creatively and from a sales perspective.
