Scrolling information, News Radio and classical music piped through a network of telephones...
The installation came about because a jeweller had booked the rooms, and pulled out of the show the day before we opened! (He freaked out about showing people his work!!) Fortunately, I was working at an internet cafe at the time, so had access to tons of broken and half working computers, then wrote the DOS program overnight.
The internet in those days was still fairly new, and computing seemed quite mechanical to me...
